I was wondering how you can change the dash lights on a mk3 golf. I have seen it done, but the person that did it has failed to tell me how to do it. He changed them to red. All he said to me was that he used red light tape. I want to know what to do and what kind of tape to use. I have no clue what that red light tape is and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

i know what you are talking about.... try gaugelights.com ihave tried, but never gotten a response....there are instr. on how to do some of it, but not how to piece together the kit....cause he is selling it on the site....
hope to have helped....even tho im lookin to do the same thing and have had no luck

i emailed him AGAIN as well, AND I IM'ed him thru here, still no reply yet....if you ever talk to him tell him I want one of his kits .. BAD!!!

94golf is his name on here i believe.....if he sells the kit for blue conversion....including all the necessary items to convert the rest of the interior all together that'd be phat!!

How much do you think a MKIV dash light conversion onto a MKIII would cost? is it possible? Any ideas/insights? Also, I was wondering if anyone has done a Passat Taillight conversion on an A3 Golf Chassis? Is this even possible?
The fact that I saw a Civic hatchback with the entire front end from an Integra makes me wonder what would be possible with VW chassises (is that a word? lol). I know I've seen someone on here with the MKIV front end on an MkIII, and that looked awesome. What else is possible?

Try small neon tubes or you can use a red type of cellophane paper that can be purchased at a art/craft store. If you want to know how to wire it, let me know.

By the way 94golf's kit isnt worth it....doesnt shine properly.

dude you dont have to spend that money i think if you can find some transparent plastic the colo0r you want you can just follow his insturctions on his site and just change the green plastic with your color. but i could be wrong. i was going to do that but forgot thanks for reminding me.

That is what i was thinking. He is selling LED's to make the dash brighter. I have to buy blue LED for the cliamte control and the ac reairc.

ahhhh....see I just want it to be bluish....i was thinking that maybe i could just change the cellophane sheet too, but then i thought "why would he be selling leds too" i guess that makes sense.... maybe i will just take out the green plastic.....will it just shine white light?

That is what is sounds like. I guess you have to find a cellaphane paper that has the same opacity ad the green one. But if they don't shine right then you get the blue blur and that isn't good.
