Quick question
I am thinking of purchasing a golf from a guy in Canada
and bringing it to chicago is that ok
as far as legal emissions and other regulations
anyone have any feedback

I think that our emissions standards are slightly more rigid here in Canada, so you should be ok. It's best to contact your DMV and see what they say, but it should be fine.

I think you need to change the instrument cluster to a US Spec one.

Hope it is THAT good of a deal. Tell the boarder your going to Chicago where you live, then take it to the DMV to register it. Should be all you need to do? Oh yeah, don't forget HER passport!
