i wonder if this will reverse cars like the evo's and R32's not being allowed into the country
good news nonetheless because it could mean that we may get a few more european only models...
US laws coincide with European laws but for example rather than shipping US spec and CAN spec MK3's they just made an NA spec that worked with canadian bumper laws.
So technically we are the reason why euro bumpers exist

i'll beleive it when i see R32s and Evos being officially sold in Canada. This always happens. The government says theyre gonna do something and end up NOT doing it for X amount of years. YAWN!

i think the reason its 15 years (and soon to be 20 or something) is something to do with everyone will start buying foreign cars and the canadian economy will start losing money since nobody will buy canadian cars? i cant really remember.

but someone should elaborate on this im not 100% sure on what i just said but remembering overhearing this somewhere.

Currently it's 15 years, they were talking about changing it to 25 years. If this change means what we hope it does, it could change everything.

More referring to the used cars than new ones, at least personally. If this went through and all of a sudden you could pick up an Evo IV in toronto, plated and ready to go, well...

I was talking to an automotive journalist about this last night, and what I'm hearing is that this will only apply to new vehicles after the laws are unified.
so no evo 9's for us..

That sucks, kind of. but i guess it would be better in the future in the long run (at least for us who want euro cars
