Car and Driver comparison GTI

Did any one see the new Car and Driver with the comparison of the 1.8T GTI, Focus, and Civic Si. Pretty lame the GTI came in last out of the 3 when they said it was the fastest and best built. I only scaned it but they indicated it was in the middle on all the other tests. The Focus was first.
On a side note last month's article on the 25th aniversary edition could not have been more positive.
Anyone have the full article?

I saw that! It looks like they thought the GTI was too sophisticated. It was faster, yet 3rd??? I got the GTI because it's the perfect blend of power, fun and comfort... a combination those other two can't match.

They said it had "too much torque"

Sidenote: pretty interesting part in the article, the one that mentions the Civic Type-R, the Focus RS and the 25th Ann. GTI. They say how it's too bad none of these real hot hatches are currently available to us.

Yes, and this was addressed a few days ago here on the Vortex.
The stuff that article said, however, did not make me feel one bit of regret for getting a GTI. I love my car, and they didn't really say anything that negative about it. Sure, it needs some after market mods (which is the upshot of their argument against it) but it's killer after it's modded.
I wouldn't want those other two rides, esp. over a GTI.

I think they might have been referring to the torque-steer.

No, actually they were referring to how there's more power than the stock tires can handle. Which is sort of true.

it was beat around the track by a slower car.. gee..
