So I was driving on the highway and all of the sudden I noticed the battery light came on then went off. Then the epc light, battery light and check engine lights all came on. At that same time the engine started loosing power, at first I couldn't accelerate and then I couldn't hold my speed so I had to pull over. While stopped the engine idle was all over the place, swinging up and down 1krpm and eventually stalled out. I recently changed the timing belt and put on a new head gasket but it had been running perfect for about 100 miles before this started happening. Everything was timed correctly! None of the fuses are blown on the left side of the dash. I tried scanning in vagcom and it pulled a bunch of codes (all for low or implausible signal) but I want able to save the codes because my notebook battery died :( So I towed the car home and now vagcom can't even make a connection with the computer but the vagcom plug for the diagnostic port lights up so I know the port has power.

Side note im using a 2003 jetta gl 2.0 battery for my 2000 gls 1.8t.
When I try to start the car it just bogs down and dies as if it's not getting enough fuel/air
It was raining when this happened.

I'm just really pissed because I have so much in this car so I might have left out details.
