you can get rid of most of it by 1, buying a stiffer motormount or new busings for your existing mount. and 2, get some better tires. I don't think there is any way to really get rid of it, but I am using the vw motorsports mount from http://www.parts4vws.com and it has taken away alot of the engine slop. I still get some wheel hop with my stock 15" tires, but I am getting 17" z rated in 2 weeks and will let you know how that goes. I know the replacement bushings are available from http://www.abdracing.com and http://www.suspension.com
Hope this helps http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I have 17's w/ z rated tires and my car still hops when I do a burnout. Its more like wheel slam. The whole car sounds like it is being hit with a sledgehammer. I think it was included as an option in my car to keep me from doing burnouts.
Edit: It only happens to me when I am spinning them in a straight line. How come the car won't hop when I am doing a burnout around a corner? Anyone have good burnout pics?
I don't ever do burn outs and I have the VWMS mount and good tires...but under heavy accel it will happen if I am not careful. I have been thinking about some VWMS strut caps....don't know how that works with coilovers and maybe coilovers will help to curb this a little...not sure.
quote:

Anyone have the front end of their car "hop" when the wheels spin???

I always thought it was the Traction Control, because when I turn it off, they will churp more, but not hop. I dunno if its right, I just tried it the other day because I noticed the same thing.
i've never had wheel hop, although I can get the clutch to slip (whirrrrr).
i take the TC off, then spin up and drop, wheel spin, but no hop.
what the heck are you guy doin to get the front suspension to hop??
