ok so i'm going through oil like crazy and there are no visible leaks under the car. it ticks really loud when its on. and when i start it, it sounds like someone is crushing a pop can underneath for about 2 seconds. sometimes it "whizzes". any ideas besides an engine swap? thanx. I am planning on taking it soon, but i want to know if anyone else has had these problems. thanx

Crunching can = crunching metal.. Take it apart and find out whats wrong...

Ticking sound is from the hydraulic lifters on start up and is common when they get older but nothing to worry about. That crunching can sounds (dunno about that one). How long have you had the car and does it only make these sounds at start up? Take it to a reputable mechanic but not the Stealership.
