Okay sorry to bug you guys but this is really important to me.....dec 8th i got charged with dangerous driving. And my lawyer couldnt convince the
crown attorney to change it to carless. So im not sure
if i should plead guilty and loose my license for a
year and prolly have a niffty fine or to go to trial
to get careless driving which my lawyer said will be
hard. Please dont call me an idiot cus i already know
that and this shat is really stressing me out......so
if you wont help then dont.
Here is the Crown Attorny`s Synopsis to give you an
idea of what happend.
On the 8th of Decemeber 2001 at about 1:15am, the
investigating officer was operating police radar for
traffic traveling southbound on Guelph LIne from #3
side road in the town of milton.
At 1:24 am a lone vehicle approached the radar
location. This vehicle was obviously exceeding the
posted 60km speed (around 40 miles). The vehicle
entered the radar and registered a speed of 126km/h.
As the vehicle drove past the officer he was abl to
determine that it was a WHITE VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. the
officer turned on his headlights and pulled out to
follow the vehicle and pull it over.
When the officer pulled onto the guelph Line the jetta
was approaching the intersection of the guelph line
and steeles ave. The vehicle was braking hard (not
true, cus i was just flooring it and only slowed down
when there was a car comming cus i was goin very fast)
and moved into the northbound lane (turned right from
the left lane)
As the officer made the same right hand turn the
accused had increased the distance from the
intersection dramatically. He was accelerating
quickly. The officer activated the emergency lights
(he didnt and he even admitted it) on the cruiser and
accelerated after the accused. Due to the nature of
the offence and the condition of the roadway the
officer decided to dicontinue going after the accussed
(i basically lost him).
At the intersection of steeles Ave and first line the
officer located the jetta. it had lost control while
attempting to make another right hand turn and entered
the northwest ditch. the vehicle had struck several
small trees (not true there was only grass) both
airbags deployed (cus i clipped the rock with my
bumper hard) and the vehicle had recieved significan
damage to the front end body and under cariage (the
bumper was a lil cracked at the bottom and thats it)
the driver revieced very minor injuries (the fackin
air bag cut my wrists) he was assisted from the
vehicle.
At 1:25am the driver was advised he was under arrest
for dangerous driving and advised of his rights and
cautioned. the accuesed identified himself with a
valid ontario drivers license.
Okay sorry that was soo long. just to clarify things i
didnt see the cop....well i seen a car behind quite a
bit behind me but he didnt have his sirens on so i
just thought it was another car. and i was speeding
cus my mom was crying and upset cus she is goin
through a divorce and i wanted to get there as soon as
possible.
I would really appreciate some insight on what i
should do ( i have a lawyer) or insidents where anyone
was charged with careless or dangerous driving and
what they exacly did.
