Cars are getting cheaper quality every year GTI to the Beetle what I noticed

All manufactures are getting cheaper and lighter all the time.

I did my first DIY, replaced the map lights with LED red bulbs. I did my 2011 GTI as well.

It was the very same way, as this DIY on the beetle, exactly.:thumbup:

What i did noticed is that the plastic and the circuit board is thinner and lighter and more delicate than my 2011 GTI. The plastic is like my kids brothers model car type, BRITTLE AND THIN.

Anyway, I did it, but took my time not to break clips or break the board, but I could have very easily.

Yeah... plastics is an addiction in the auto industry.

Yeah, unfortunately. I wish VW would slot itself upmarket again, get rid of the cheap models and materials and do what they do best. I'm just hoping when the '14 MK7 GTI comes out it doesn't suffer the fate the Jetta and Passat did...I might literally cry if I get into a base GTI when they show up at dealers and it doesn't have soft-touch. lol
