Ok brief history. Got a check gas cap light 2 weeks ago, went away and then came back 2 days later. Went away again and then the CEL came on. It's aways at fairly low RPMs too... 1000-2000 usually throws the code according to vag-com.
P0442 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded - Intermittent - MIL ON
Cleared the code as it states "small leak" and went on with my week. Fuel door came on next day, turned off and then got the same CEL. Now I had this occur 3 times in one week.
Took it to dealer and they claim I have software coded on the car and won't do warranty work (although they did take care of the A/C moldy smell for me under warranty with a free cabin air filter, lol). I have no idea what they are talking about with the coding.. (cough cough stage II APR) .. the downpipe and lack of CEL for that gave it away apparently. Regardless, i need to have an idea of what I am looking at here before I deal with paying them to change items on a whim. Vag-com printout below for engine diagnostics. Please advise! Thanks in advance. Maybe this is a DIYer project? I hate the dealer, but i was hoping for a free fix
::edit:: read some threads and some say n80 valve maybe or the line connecting to it? Hmm, I wonder if ECS has this for a good price...
