Changing rings

ok, i just put my 2.0 in my car, but i know have the money to do the rings, cause i am gonna turbo it, my main question is (i know it may be ghetto) but is it possible to change the rings without removing the engine, technically i can take the head off, take the pan off, disconnect the connecting rods, and push the pistons out.
next i will need to have the block honed, i am gonna have my friend do this for me, but is it that hard to do....
finally i what else should i change when doing this, main shaft bearings??? and what rings do you recomend, also can i put the rings on or is there a special way that takes experience, i will read about it before i attemp but i wanna make sure its possible.
thanks, joe

I seriously doubt that a drill honejob would create any need for larger rings they are mearly to break the glaze and get a nice crosshatching back on the cyl walls.
quote:

I belive a local auto parts store (pending they actually do this) will rent you a drill attachment cylinder hone tool....meaning ( i think i confused myself saying that
) you can put it on the end of your drill, and do it while it's in the car...i was considering this too...when i do the head...but i can't wait to save the money to buy the parts...
unless...you can do this, and not have to get new pistons...just hone it, that only takes off such a minor amount that it wouldn't matter...right? just get a slightly thicker ring to install? i want to also install a knife edged crank...but there aren't any local places i've found yet that do that lil feature...

I agree a 100% and yes I think it can be done with the block still bolted in the car.
