Re: Changing spark plugs on 98 A4 2.8L V6 (iamfob)
I just changed the plugs on my wife's 98 A6 2.8, and I don't believe it would be much different from your car. The whole process is actually quite easy for a V6, after removing all three engine covers you will see the plug wires running down into boots in the head. These just pop out, they may be a little tough but give it some (gentle) love. After you pop one out, just slap the extension onto your spark plug socket, snug it onto the plug, loosen and pull out, and replace. The rearmost plugs on each side require removal of some other items. On the passenger side, I had to remove the MAF to get to the plug, and on the driver side I had to loosen the coolant reservoir to access the plug. It really is simple, just take your time, get acquainted with the engine compartment and enjoy!
