I'm in the midst of converting crom CIS-E to CIS-E Motronic and this my last forseeable stumbling block. My CIS-e has a vacuum operated charcoal canister and the Motronic setup that I'm swapping in has an electricaly operated unit. Can I just my existing vacuum unit, or will the Motronic brain pitch a fit( for lack of the electrical signals) and tell me to go pound sand?

Re: Charcoal canisters vac./elect. (89GLI16V)

I asked the same question when I was considering the Motronic conversion.
The Motronic CU doesn't monitor the functioning of the charcoal canister solenoid valves, so you can leave them as is (CIS-E Jetronic) or change everything (as per CIS-E Motronic).
