i have a 94 jetta GLS, and i've been comparing chips for them. i think i've narrowed down my choices to an autotech one, or a techtonics one. does anybody have experience with various chip manufacturers? i'm just looking to do some basic mods, not go hog-wild on it. i'm leaning towards the autotech chip, mainly because i can't find any dyno charts for the 2.0 engine, and i guess autotech's "propaganda" if you will. their site goes into some depth about what their q-chip does.

thank you all

Re: chip recommendation? (gotta_jet)

I have seen several polls asking this same thing. Most people seem to think the GIAC chip is the better. I ordered one from Dubwerks.com just 2 days ago. I also have a 2.0. The GIAC chip seems to be about 30 bucks more the the Autotech or the TT, and no one has said it wasn't worth the money. Keep in mind companies like TT and Autotech also sell aftermarket cams and exhausts and what not. I would assume their Chip should work well with their Cams, etc.

Re: chip recommendation? (gotta_jet)

i'm new so my 2 cents aren't worth that much but i just put in a Techtonics chip last night and like it. i've heard that the extra $ for GIAC and others won't be realized until you go for more exotic upgrades.
