Re: Chips (EvilVento2.oT)

You know this thread is screaming for a pic of Ponch but its just too easy a stab.
The chip plugs into the your computer underneath your rain gutter on the passenger side of the car. Its like popping any cpu onto a motherboard.

Re: Chips (FroOch)

more like a semi-conductor on a circuit board, you dont need any thermal paste on this chip like a cpu

Re: Chips (golfgen3)

You're also not using a heat sink/fan which is the whole reason for the gel.
ps: in the context you are using, CPU's are semi-conductors or better yet made up of.

I tried to stop myself I really did...

Some chips just drop in your ECU (i.e., Neuspeed) some others have to be sent to be soldered in. Depends. You're looking anywhere from 100-200 depending on driving habits and seller.

Re: Chips (stevegolf)

I got my autotech q chip for $100 new and it took me all of about 15 minutes to install. There was definitely an increase in power, but nothing that is going to push you back in your seat. After all, it is still a 2.0. I love it still the same... http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
