Ok - someone please tell me what's up with chips.
I have a vr6 w/ just over 200,000 km's on the clock, a prm intake and a no-name catback; would a chip be a waste of time, danger to my engine (which is serviced regularly and runs on synthetic) - and most importantly, would i even notice a power increase or difference in power curve on such an aged engine?
and if so, which chip offers the best performance for the price? from reading around (again, just websites/forums) people tend to lean to the garret chip, opinion? knowledge? anything would be helpful.
thx!

Re: chips. (spoonie)

I have a Neuspeed chip and I love it. But I have never driven a GIAC chipped VR6, so I can't say what they are like. All I know is everyone one here who has them, loves them! There a few different chip tuners within this list here...........

Or try doing a search. Type in "VR6 chip".
Good Luck. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: chips. (spoonie)

I'm not too sure about chipping a NA engine..
I think 2001+ VR6s have DBW and a chip helps remove the throttle lag..
If anything I think you can expect a max 10 hp gain
but I'm not positive!
