cis-e to digi 2 problems

i hope someone on here can help me put the problems behind me because they have been keeping me from driving my 85 gti. i have swapped my cis-e wiring for a bit more economical digifant 2 and these are my problems as of know;
-how do you make the digi fuse panel fit in under the dash, it seems to wide??
-do i need the ignition (key) wiring from the digi donor?
-do i need a set of digifant taillights? the ones from my cis-e car had no bulb trays and the digi car did... but it was a jetta (damn)
-what part of the fuel pump needs to be swapped? i have the top off and i am unsure wether i need the underbody part also??
-what do you guys use to hold the VIN to your dash? i have it just sitting on there for now, can you buy plastic rivits or something that looks like it came from the factory?
anyways, if i can get some answers i could have my car on the road this week... these problems have been holding me up for a week already, thanks in advance!!
PS- I tried the search but I can never seem to get the damn thing to work right...

Sounds like the fusebox is from a different year, the early ones (pre 1989) are different to the late ones (1990+), you'll need to get the right fusebox holder for the fusebox

If the donor car has different electrics as above, then ideally you want the right ignition switch & housing although it shouldn't be difficult to splice the wiring to your switch.
Rear lights should be the same, unless the Jetta had euro bulb trays, in which case you'll need to either splice the wires to your existing lights or get Euro tail lights
you need the digifant fuel pump as the CIS pump works at a different fuel pressure.
You can get rivit tool, not sure about plastic ones but you could get some metal ones & paint them black?
Hope some of that make sence to you

I'm kinda frightened to ask why you want to know about the rivets for the VIN

digifant needs a different style dash so i am putting the VIN from my cis-e car on the digi dash. i haven't stolen or anything..lol
thanks for the help guys, i am still wondering about the bulb trays though... why did the 92 jetta have trays and not just plug in bulbs?? would it have to be that it is a euro bulb tray? or are there north amercian VW's with stock bulb trays? this is the first 90-92 model i have worked on, and the early models had the plug in bulbs....

and is the fuel pump i need just the top piece or the whole pump?
like do i need to get under the car and drop the whole thing down? i have the part that dips into the fuel tank...
thanks again in advance!

Yes you will definitly need the main pump (from under the car), I think the lift pump (in tank) is the same between CIS & digifant but don't quote me on that, you might as well fit the digifant one now you've got it

The Euro rear lights are slightly different to US ones, there are places that sell them but I'm not sure where you would find any? Someone will know

I also have a feeling that all US Jettas had Euro tray holders and US Golfs have the plug in style bulbs. Not sure where I got this crazy idea though

are you sure? i was told it was different, and from looking i could see the slight differences.... maybe i am wrong but there are some differeneces for sure! i dont know why i was told to swap dashes if it is totally unnecesary.
oh and about the tails, i will have to check some sites to see what they sell... maybe it is just jetta with the bulb trays.
thanks again.

are you sure?

positive...
the differences youre seeing are more than likely just because the dash is from a later car, and had to meet different safety standards.
