I have a doner car to pull the CIS-E injection and ignition stuff out of but no distributor. Is it different than the regular CIS dist. or can I just use mine?
OK thanks you guys, now I'm more confused than before! I think the hall sensor is the trigger so they both should have them right? Also, doesn't the CIS dist. have vacume AND mechanical advance?
The CIS-e has an ignition system that changes the timing advance with the knock box. The CIS system changes the timing advance with the dist. The CIS-e dist. does not change the timing mark at all and the CIS does. If you installed a CIS dist in a knock system [if it ran] then the timing would be changed by the dist and the knock box. If the dist changed it 25 degrees and the knock box changed it another 25 degrees then that is way too much. Some how [if the dist would work with the CIS-e ign. system] the CIS dist would have to loose the timing advance curve set up and the vacuum advance too.
