I remember when dropping a 350 into an Omni or Chevette was common, but I don't know of anyone using a beer keg for a gas tank.

Audi Coupe quattro's are that way. I had one - gas tank was right under the carpet in the trunk if memory serves me correctly.
Also, Audi 90 Quattros, the gas tank was between the rear seat and the trunk, so there was no fold down seat option.

How about a Chevette with a 455?

Kind of along the lines of the Fiesta but a bit less radical, though with more torque..
