Anbody want an Alfa? I know the guy selling this, he has 3 more. The other one that he's selling is a green 91 5-speed that is getting a new clutch as we speak. He also daily's a white auto and another black one. I almost bought another black L manual he had last year, but I decided it would not be wise financially.

An Alfa Romeo 164L with a rebuilt salvage title and front-end damage.
If ever there was a car that epitomized "DO NOT WANT," well, this is it.

While we're at it, anybody interested in a flood damaged Maserati Biturbo? I can get you a real good deal on it!

there is a reason why they pull out of the North America market... They made VW look like a Toyota in terms of reliability.

Actually, if not rusted to hell, it woudl make a great custom/semi-race project. LS1 and Painless wiring harness would fix a lot of the issues with one of those...

Re: FV-QR (Swallow Doretti)

I've seen that car listed in my chicago CL and have been tempted. depending on what the damage was could be a no big deal situation or could really be bad... I suspect you knew that.
Drove one once, quite nice needless to say, this or a GTV-6 is my next alfa. Also waiting for a 5spd car.

I did a complete Zender kit and pearl white paint job on one back in the early '90s. Incredible sounding sedan that was very nice to drive. but yeh, the reliability/cost is out of whack, even for me.

Do not want. I always admired the 164S from a distance but you'd have to be a real perverted leather mask wearing masochist to want that salvage 164L up top.

I love the S, especially with the late-model projector headlights...
As for the one on top, it would make a good donor for this:

are any of those kits running around the US?

Yep. There's a forum (can't find it now) for them and these guys hoard them. Some have two or three and they buy them off the other forum guys as soon as one is selling...
Here's one that was for sale in NJ:

nice work

a buddy of mine had one of these. the head gasket blew at 80K and he ended up selling to the alfa-specializing shop that it was towed to out of sheer apathy
