I started to get a clicking noise from my driver's side front wheel two weeks ago. It happens when I am going straight. From a stop until I can't hear it because of wind noise. Could it be the cv joint or wheel bearing? Any tips for diagnosing the problem? I haven't noticed the sound while turning, yet. Thanks. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

check to see if your wheels are tightened all the way

Make sure that you don't have a nail or something stuck in your tire. That caused a clicking sound for me.

Nothing in the tires.

I just got the same problem. And I got the wheel bearings done a while ago, but it is not the same noise

mine had some horribly loud clicking noise for a couple days...and took it to the shop...they replaced the ball joints...$250 later... no more clicking...

$250?!?!?!?! for ball joints??? man you got taken for a ride.
my shop sells VR ball joints for 50 CANADIAN. and install on our cars is SUPER EASY. 3 bolts. + 1 on the ball joint, + 1 on the axle, and thats it..
EDIT> those are made in germany ball joints too, not some crap!

Put my back tires up front and it seems like it's gone for now.

It's common for newly-rotated tires to make clicking or thumping noises (it happened to me too). It goes away after the tires wear into their new locations.
