the doors circuitry shouldn't be tied into the clock's. The only thing I can think of is the wire is loose on the clock, so when you open the door it disconnects momentarily. Is it fairly consistent?
Have you tried opening the door but don't close it, and then push the door pin located along the door jam, see what happens.
