How do I install the clutch cable in my GTI. The old one snapped tonight. At the tranny side, right where the clutch lever is. I couldn't get one tonight, but I will go tomorrow morning and get one. I don't know how to install it. If I get a self adjusting one, like the one that was in there, is my clutch play or anything going to change? I also lost the clip that holds the cable end to the lever. (when it snapped) What do I do?

buy a new cable and clip, also might want the clip that holds it to the clutch pedal if you break it on accident

I replaced my cable a few years ago I don't remember exactly how i did it but it wasn't too hard. I replaced it with the non self adjusting cable. Do yourself a favor and buy a bentley manual.
