Anyone feel sort of a clicking feeling at a certain point whilst depressing the clutch? Like at almost the halfway point between the floor and clutch starting position. Maybe its cause the car is new??? It dont bother me, or seem to be messin with the tranny at all, I am just wonderin why the hell i feel it. I looked in the manual , came up wit nothin.

YEAH i have the too sometimes....but sometimes it's from the clutch, other times i just hear it from i dont know where...i'm gonna bring it up at next service..not a big deal i guess..but just annoying to me
Re: Clutch Clicking ? (Wreck11)

I just put a new clutch in my car and it seems to make a sort of rattling noise with the clutch depressed. Once I push the clutch in it stops? Hmm?

Yeah I have it too. If you sit there repeatedly pressing the clutch it's noticable. I never notice it when driving though.
It kinda feels like the centre detent on a stereo balance knob...
Re: Clutch Clicking ? (F1_Fan)

Exactly, you could press down on the clutch every time for the same clicking effect. And WOW it does feel like the knob on the tuner!!!
Re: Clutch Clicking ? (mpf)

dealers... Take your car in for black smoke coming out of the engine bay and they will call it "normal condition" too.

I know man, Dealers are so damn corrupt.
ie:
Me:"my car is burning a little more than a quart per thousand miles"
Dealer:"oh really? Thats just normal, some people speculate that it is why it gets such good gas milage!"
ME: "Ok i wanna do the VW Oil consumption Test."
month later...
Dealer: " we checked your oil level and topped off all your fluid. It turns out you burned only 1/2 a quart in the past 1,000 miles!!!"
ME: Goes home pulls out the dip stick, FINDS IT IN THE 'MUST ADD" part of the stick. GETS REALLY MAD.
Me(idiot): GOES BACK A WEEK LATER AND BUYS A NEW CAR

Maybe i am stupid, but the dealer are true sheisters. its too bad they the only big VW dealer around!

Re: Clutch Clicking ? (enfi)

i have the same problem, almost a ratchiting effect when the clutch is pusshed through the bottom 2" of being fully depressed, then the same sound when it is let out. like a piece of plastic is laying on a moving part of the clutch pedal and it clicks when it moves. like a gear or somethingwith a plastic piece on it. anyone ever explore into the problem? like rip the dash apart?
Re: (Cypher2k)

god, make a new thread, and get bitched at and be told to search, or search, find old threads, with no answers and this is what happens. this board is getting more and more useless. no one answers questions, they just say.. search.. or god thats a dumb question.
