Does anyone know if the throwout bearing (on an 02A) is supposed to spin while cruising? (clutch not depressed)
The reason I'm asking, is because when I spin the engine by hand, I can see the throwout bearing spinning also (through the starter hole). This is without the clutch depressed. There seems to be quite a bit of pressure exerted by the slave cylinder to push the bearing onto the pressure plate make the bearing spin. Is this normal?
I thought that the throwout bearing contacted the pressure plate only when the clutch was depressed. Wouldn't this heat the bearing and destroy it?
I'm just wondering is something is wrong with my clutch kit or slave cylinder...
Thanks and sorry for the weird question...
