Scenario:
Trans back in, freshly bolted up with new clutch, pressure plate installed. notice that clutch lever is not quite as tight as normal, but i finish bolting up the starter anyways. get in car, press clutch...pedal goes to floor and does nothing. take off the green end cap on the trans(covers internal lever/spring/pushrod) pushrod is bottomed out but obviously not in contact with the pressure plate(more accurately the small plate w/i the press plate) shine light in galley, can't really see anything out of sorts, though my helper thinks maybe the center piece has been pushed out(???) any ideas would be helpful...could they have sent me the wrong plate? the pushrod looks to be in decent shape, not ground down or anything.
thanks guys(and gals)

Re: Clutch woes, part 3 (Tornado2dr)

Did you remember to attach the release plate (that's what the little plate is called btw) to the pressure plate with that included spring wire? It'd be pretty hard to push the pin receiving bit out of the release plate. When the tranny is separated from the engine, you should just be able to push the pin flush with the input shaft, and lifting up on the release lever should push the pin out about an inch. HTH.
