find it strange.....service manager told me that 4 CP were replaced but updates to the ECU were not performed as it was not required. He even checked again to make sure and said it was right. Only car supposedly that needed the ECU updates was the passat??
anyone know if this is correct?

The dealer reflash my stock ECU, now all i need is APR to release a newer update for my chip ECU.

All mine were replaced and I didn't get the ecu update.
I thought I read it was only for the Passats or something to that effect......

just had my coipacks replaced...all they did was clear codes..and slapped me on my butt and sent me home...I am not sure about a reflash...btw I have a 2k2 Jetta

The reflash only happens if you have cold start issues.
If they find certain codes they will update your ECM for a higher misfire tolerance before a DTC is generated.
This has only been covered about 20 times...

There is a TSB from VW stating to reflash some ECM's based on suffix of part # on module, this reflash was in regards to a cold start misfire jetta/golf were suffering from.
