I currantly own a 93 vr6 corrado and I am thinking about selling it to get a 1.8t a4, just wanted some feed back on the a4 i.e, will I miss the corrado performance or will I be more happy with the more refined A4 thanks, john http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: corrado vs a4 (REDSLC)

Thats about it.. you'll lose a wee bit in performance (not so bad if chipped 1.8T), but the ride comfort, safety, space, and handling will be all improved upon. Looks, both look good, but i'd have to say the corrado wins in that dept

Corrado down on handling compared to an 1.8T A4!? Not quite....... I own both cars you mentioned so I think I'm qual;ified to give my opinion so let me put it this way: if masked gunmen came to my house and demanded the keys to the 2001.5 A4 1.8TQ or the 1993 Corrado SLC, they'd drive away in the Audi. 'nuff said.

Re: corrado vs a4 (VR6guy)

no doubt the audi would get a better theft recovery value. The book on 'rados is way too low these days

Can't beat the all wheel drive handling though, nothing like the mountain twisties with all 4 wheels powering around the corners, nothing like the rain and snow handling of all wheel drive too.
You have to sacrifice a good bit of comfort to reach superior levels of handling with the rado. I've had both too. My rado was considerably faster and lighter than the audi, but i'll live..

Re: corrado vs a4 (mrkrad)

both good cars in my opinion... never driven a corrado though
they seem to be in two different classes though to me: luxury vs sport compact
i would go with a 2.8 liter a4 but thats just me... wait i think i would get an a6 over an a4 but yea..
good luck
try keeping both though
Re: corrado vs a4 (eightvalvejettacarat)

Good topic here, i own a Corrado also, and was wondering the same thing, i love the way my rado handles and drives on the freeway. I would be disapointed to sell it for and A4 and have it seem like i am driving a bathtub. Unless that is i can afford a new A4, those look sick....
Re: corrado vs a4 (Shinny_G60)

He's right its not the same class of car. The a4 is geared towards luxury, smooth ride, and the awd helps alot in adverse conditions.. handling (speaking of mine 01.5 with sport package) is superb with the lightweight 1.8T.
I've driven the non-sport A4 (99.5) and it was a bathtub, not really fair to compare a 15" wheeled non-sport with 150hp to a chipped brand new one though eh..
. I guess they improved the handling greatly since that year. I head the 02's with sport package are ever firmer than the 01's. Haven't tried one myself.
