Couple Races I won

So we had another gtg in Austin a Few Weeks back and I got to race a Chipped GTi with 1.8t engine and a downpipe. My car, again, completely stock.
The light flashes three times (another A2 gti Owner doing the lights for us, the length of the road is about a 1/4 mile long with a slight uphill at the last peg of the road)
I drop it at about 2900-3000pms, the car dips down and grips and I am off. I drop it into second and my car chirps and I hunker down as the car picks up more speed, the GTi is 3 car lengths behind me. I run out of room in 2nd and drop it into 3rd, the car chirps AGAIN... and I slowly build boost as the car dashs for the finish line. I look behind me and see that the GTi had also shifted into 3rd and is catching up fast, but alas the line comes and I have won by a car length. I think everyone who saw that race including TexasCorradoG60 was gapejawed. My stock C beating a Chipped GTi.
Then Later on I raced TexasCorradoG60 and I beat him pretty easily but I attribute that to his EuroSpec Tranny, the gears are much taller.

Then I had a run in with a Wolfsburg Edition passat, also stock this past saturday night. Was a 1.8t not chipped at all.
We line up, he honks 3 times and we gun it. I smoke him off the line and drop it into second where I start to walk away from him then I drop it into third and he pulls in closer but then we get to the finish line and I have won by a solid car length.
Lots of fun, good racing. Who says stock G60's running only 7 psi are slow?

Are you lying?

Bummer I missed this GTG. Where did you guys run? Which chipped GTI was it?
And how'd you fix your car? What was the problem?

Re: Couple Races I won (Zinc)

Zinc, remember the Asian kid with silver 1.8T with the really loud Blow Off Valve? He was from indonesia and going to a culinary arts school here in Austin? That was the Chipped 1.8t I raced.

We raced at a spot near my home, it is a huge long empty road off of 290 and 183. That night there were SEVERAL races and I got it all on video tape.. BUT... later that night couple of us met up with a Supra crowd and we (the kid with the Red Gti) road with them and I accidentally taped over everything while riding in the supra's.
However, there were races between a 16 valve A2 Golf Gti and the TDI passat which was surprisingly a really good race. The TDI barely beat him.
There was a race between a two corrado's I cannot remember who ran that one.
There was a race between the Chipped Beetle with the insane exhaust and my Friends Red Gti. And then I raced the same guy with the Gti because Jaimie couldn't really get a hang of the launch so when I raced him the MK3 Gti with the VR6, some head work, sparkplugs, exhaust system versus the chipped 1.8t with down pipe and free flow aftermarket exhaust whcih runs 14.2 in the 1/4 I was actually able to beat him but by like half a car length.

BTW there is another gtg this saturday at Noon.

As for my car. I switched the oil and changed the filter and the car is running fine, sort of. Now I am switching the Catalytic converter because the filter has busted so it rattles, with a test pipe instead.
What we figured out is that oil pushed into the supercharger blew a seal in the charger thus spewing a little oil into the combustion chamber caused the car to blow the dirty bomb on the highway. Right now the seal is once again sealed but my car is going in for a major tune up next month and By June I am hoping to be running 13's with a couple special mod's. I decided the only thing I am doing to the body is getting the dents pulled and have the car repainted.

Re: Couple Races I won (clubfootedmidget)

The racing posts don't belong here to begin with, but I find it hard to believe that a stock G60 would do anything to a modded 1.8T. I put a boost controller in my friends GTI 1.8T and he consistently whoops my ass in my well modded VR6. That GTI has to be putting around 200HP to the ground. I'm not so sure a stock G60 could keep up. I'm not trying to be a dick about the racing post thing, but street racing is for morons. http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif

Re: Couple Races I won (BadAssCorrado)

B.A.C. I don't care if you like racing stories. I do. I like reading them. And there is no reason why they are not appropriate here. And yes I beat the chipped 1.8t and I have people that can vouch for me on it, just ask TexasCorradoG60. As for the street racing comment: if you choose to race on a backroad where there is no traffic, and I mean a back road that could be a track because it is so wide, and such a back road that there is never any traffic on it at 1 in the morning and you and the person you are racing are willing to tack a chance to race from a stop I can see no difference between that and racing at a track since the only people that could possibly get hurt are the people racing.
Anyway, yes, I beat a chipped 1.8t STOCK.

Aren't you the one whinning about of topic stuff all the time? I agree with Badass, I highly doubt you beat a chipped 1.8t with a downpipe, and illegal racing is dumb I mean I mess around some times but no need to brag. Kid at my school just killed himself yesterday, time to grow up and take it to the track.
Re: Couple Races I won (BlackieVR6)

I am not the one complaining about your dumb topics. I care less what you post. And if you are going to street race in a crowded area on a public road that is crowded with cars on each side of the street then yes, you are stupid but when there are no cars on the road and NO traffic then whats the difference between running on a big long wide empty road and a track? Ask any person that was there and they will tell you just how EMPTY and long and wide this street is. It is not as though I made a foolish decision by racing there. Too bad your friend died. I don't care.
Re: Couple Races I won (clubfootedmidget)

Blackie- Sorry to hear this.
Clubfoot...I agree with you about the racing..BUT i agree with badass, I am saying I think its fine to open up on a back road and i MAY be stupid but so be it, its something i enjoy and i dont care what ya'll think....its just a sad day when some poor farmboys' dog decides to cross without listening for a g-lader, he probably thought we were calling him

Re: Couple Races I won (clubfootedmidget)

Actually I think you devoted a whole topic to bitching at me, Im sure I could dig it up. Your just some ignorant fool, do us all a favor and post else where.
Re: Couple Races I won (G60_Likes_2_Break)

I've been reading posts here for a while, and I really used to like race stories. Unfortnately there's not as many of them being posted here anymore. The more race stories the better! It gives people a chance to read and write interesting writing as well as talk about what their cars can DO , not just what they're made of. Call me a newbie or a moron or whatever makes you feel good, but I think the comments, "Street racing is for morons", and "race posts don't belong here anyways." are not justified. If you don't think people should race or drive fast, why mod our cars at all? Just to show off our wallets? Not everybody has the means or the desire to spend a lot of time and money at the track. I just say to each his own. Don't force your opinions on others by trying to get race posts edited or something like that, (not saying that anyone here did that). Sorry, just enjoy.

Re: Couple Races I won (clubfootedmidget)

I was there.... and yes Masin (clubfootedmidget) did beat a chipped 1.8t GTi.. I was the one waving them off with the light... And to the guy whining about the post... You read the topic and still opened it.. Why? It was posted as a racing story.. If you'd care not to read it, then by all means don't. But don't read it and cry that you don't wanna... And to the individual that complained how dangerous street racing is... This was on a deserted street.. Every car not running was parked in a parking lot atleast 15 feet from the edge of the atleast 5 lane road.. We had cars at both exits of the road on cell phones.. One gentleman was on the phone with me, and the other was on the phone to my friend (damn I love free nationwide usage of my phone on weekends) and They would give the green light and once I got clears on all sides, I'd flash the light. If there were cars coming, I'd wave the light side to side. But to the guys doubting the facts... Mason DID in fact beat the modded 1.8t GTi.. I do beleive that alot of it had to do with the driver's lack of knowing how to drive his car... Yes Mason beat a very nicely equipped Rado G60 belonging to Adrian (texascorradog60). He won this race because Adrian Has a new tranny in his car with all TALLL gears, and has no take off.. but he does like 75 at 2600 RPM? LOL... not a bad trade off if you ask me... And Mason misrepresented one fact.. the Race between the A2 GTi (belonging to me) and the TDI.. my car is BONE stock still as I've had it 3 weeks? and the TDI was a Jetta, not a Passat. Anyways, the Jetta was modded also, he has a chip, cone filter, high flow exhaust, and other things I can't think of.. My car lost, but I'm surely not complaining.... Mason is a pretty bad ass driver, and if you mess up he'll make you regret it.. Don't be bitter guys.. we all share the same love... We're a rare species compared to the rice boys... Hope this clears things up a bit... I will be at the GTG in Austin this weekend if any of you will be.. I'll be the stock black A2 GTi...

Do what you must be it a back road or rush hour I don't care but when you or one of your friends dies because of a stupid mistake I'm sure it will change your opinions on street racing. I used to think it was kewl to street race with people and I'm not saying I don't drop a gear and accelerate down the road, but when you open up your buddies helmet after he has just slammed his new Honda Crotch Rocket into the side of some guys car and you watch him take his last breath you have to wonder if its worth it. The police didn't know how fast he was going but I did and I still do.

Re: Couple Races I won (vdubjb)

IB4TL-
clubfootedmidget is a cool guy. It sounds hard to believe, but he isn't retarded, and doesn't need to make up a racing story to impress anonymous internet kiddies.

AND they were racing on a deserted back road, for gods sake. I think the majority of people here are smart enough not to get their rocks off racing on highways.
Kinda OT: Someone on here reminds me of a guy named Chris J, and I'm NOT talking about clubfootedmidget...
