CPU problems?
Has anyone else had to have their cpu replaced in a newer A4? I have a 2003 A4 1.8T with less than 8K on it and it's got to have its cpu replaced. The part is backordered so I am wondering if that's b/c lots of other people are having the same problem. Thanks

is the cpu the same as the ecu? if so, i bet a lot of people are just buying spare ones to chip. and it's probably not a part they make a lot of extras of in the first place. i'm sure they don't anticipate many ecu problems on brand new cars, ya know? if they're not giving you a loaner, tell them to take an ecu out of a car on the lot and put it in yours! paying customers should come before potential customers!

I don't know much about these things. I may have called it the wrong name. They tell me it's the instrument cluster and the service person also called it the cpu. I don't know... I am in a loaner so that's not an issue. I was just curious to see if this was a problem that lots of people were having. Apparently not. Thanks
