i just put my new hella smoked tails on yesterday and noticed a SLIGHT crack in one when i pulled it out of the box....i figured, it's not all the way through, i don't think i'll get moisture in, and put them on....this morning i came outside and sure enough there was a little moisture in that same light, on the opposite side of the crack. should i just seal the crack up with something? would that fix the problem?

Re: cracked taillight (2kjettaguy)

yeah i should, but then i have to take both lights off, put my stock ones back on, send them back, and wait for them again...seems like too much trouble to me..would a couple light coats of super glue do the trick, or will the water just get rid of the glue?

Re: cracked taillight (NJTDI)

that should do it, but you'll probably end up seeing the superglue on the outside (looks kindof cheesy, and if it doesn't work you'll never be able to return them). Personally, i would've been pissed enough to call em up and have em send me another pair, pay for shipping of the cracked ones, and send me a bag of M&M's.

Cheers!

Re: cracked taillight (Apocrates)

the crack is like all the way on the side so no one looking at the car will be able to see the glue....the moisture is still there.....will it just like go away or do i have to do something?

Re: cracked taillight (NJTDI)

if I'm not mistaken, it's due to a difference in temperature inside the unit vs outside the unit. Once the moisture evaporates (during a warmer day) that's probably your best chance to superglue it
my g/f has this issue w/her headlights, and we're debating what to do...unfortunately superglue won't do the trick...
Cheers!
