Crank seal

Ok, it's not my oil pan that's leaking. I cleaned everything up on the engine and idled it for awhile, no oil leaking. Took it for a drive...the oil is coming out of the belt gaurd

So crank seal it is. Can anyone tell me if something might have happened to it when I was changing the timing belt, or is it just a freak (and annoying) coincidence?
