crazy braking problems

Anyone ever have this problem. When I start my car or even just turn the key on. The brake pedal gets rock solid, the brakes stay locked up. and the brake light comes on. This has happened 3 times in the last 2 days. I have no clue whats going on. Its takes sometimes 30 min to go back to normal. Can someone please shed some light

mine did that on the 1/4 mile when i blew the HG and the motor died. never realized how hard the breaks get when the motor dies and you're passing the 1/4 mile mark at 75+mph (motor died before the 1/4). Kinda eery feeling, cause on other cars the break pedal would go to the floor soft and you could still mash the brakes to stop.

ive had the similar problem today, sometimes the brakes would work fine at other times i would have to slam it to the floor and then all of a sudden it locked up out of no where i was wondering where this problem was comin from also i just got my car today and it just started doing this.

This is only when you start the car or put the key in the on position. Without touching the brakes they are automaticly locked up so I cant move the car and the brake pedal is solid. If I try to step on the brake it makes some sort of whining noise. as soon as I turn the key to the off position the brakes unlock.
