Re: Crystal Mobilesound's 6.5" components....Good?Bad?orUgly? (witecap4u)

What's way cheap? If you get this kit, make sure you get one with the silk tweeters. The titanium ones are pretty harsh. Though there is a jumper in the x-over to drop it -2db or -4db. Well, whatever, get the silks. Great sounding speakers though. I used to live my life by Crystal until they did the woofer switch and lowered the quality a little bit. The components are still the same and sound very good.

Re: Crystal Mobilesound's 6.5" components....Good?Bad?orUgly? (HyKlas)

The 3way sets are $128. I think the two ways are $118soft dome and $128titanium... That is a good price for any component set, let alone a 3 way. That is why I was wondering how they sound. They will be for my wifes car, I am planning on replacing my boston pro's with a set of 6.5 possibly 8" illusions nd series and then some sort of horns under the dash. That isnt on the top of my list yet though. Sorta working on her car first.
Thanks for the reply.

The silk domes work great when you've got the tweeters pointed directly at your ears or fairly close, while the Ti ones tend to work better in kicks when they're pointed directly at each other, otherwise they sound really harsh. That tends to be the case with a lot of automotive hard-dome tweeters, especially MB Quart's

The Crystal components are nice, though. I've installed the set you've mentioned and it's nice.

Re: Crystal Mobilesound's 6.5" components....Good?Bad?orUgly? (witecap4u)

Any Idea if these will fit in a MK3 gti. Sound Domain is calling it a 7" but they crystal website is calling it a 6.5? Also, what size is the dash tweeter hole. Will it hold the 4" midrange?
Thanks,

I've heard rave reviews of them off of sounddomain. Go for it http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
