Cushman (a Textron Company!), makers of wacky golf-carts, mall-cop security carts, etc, sell a vehicle they call the White Van.

It is, for all intents and purposes, a full automobile, complete with 1 litre engine. They list the top speed as 22 mph, my guess is they have the transmission geared to stay under that...
It -looks like- a Japanese microvan. So, my question is.. what is it? Does cushman actually build this thing, or do they buy funny japanese vans with speed-limited transmissions?

I have seen many Cushman vehicles on campus...but all of those ones that I see seem to have Mitsubishi badges on em...
We have tons on campus.

ive seen and ridden in one of those. dave&busters has one that they use as a parking lot shuttle. man is it tiny

And yes, when I get bored, I start spending far too much time researching really obscure things. Especially really obscure automotive things.

This is a chinese-built van, made by Tianjin Huali. It apparently is a Daihatsu design, though.

Those things are all over China. It's an older model of some Japanese van (Isuzu I think), and produced under licence there. They are small, but kinda cool, lots of volume, takes up no space on the roads! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
PS: 3 speeds only in NA, all the ones I saw were 5 speeds and capable of about 65 mph.

Yeah dude, those cushman vans and mini-trucks are all over my god forsaken hell-hole college campus, i am about to steal one just to escape......
