Does anyone have any info on whether or not I can buy/make/install a climatronic system for a GLS (which doesn't come with one)...
If anyone has taken their dash apart, do you have pictures? Is the wiring relatively simple for the heating/ac controls?

i can't help, but i think it would be difficult, usually there are cables/rods to accuate the vents on your dash, also you would need to wire in an outside teperature sensor, an insde temp. sensor and various other goodies, also from the factory the climatronic can read some of the engine functions that are normally left to the idiot lights. remember though, anything can be done if you invest the time and money into it. good luck!

this has been priced in several thousands of dollars. Because you need to add sensors around the car and extra wiring and all kinds of stuff.
Nowhere near cost effective.

THis is one of those 'if you have the time and money' things.
Take a look at the bentley manual, and you'll see just how much more you need to add to have a climatronic system. Its a lot. And you dont need it that badly.

look at the mkIV classifieds.. there is a climatronic system for sale out of a wrecked car.. might be worth the gander..
