I'm rebuilding drive shafts and just need to be sure what ones I need to order.

The inner is 100mm dia. where it bolts to the tranny so I assume I need a 100mm inner boot kit.
The outer is about 86-90mm depending on weather you measure the lip or not. So what boot kit size do I need for the outers???
Where the CV's hold on to the drive shaft it is 28mm, but I don't think that matters.

My guess would be 100mm kits all-around, but I want to be sure before I order.

They're usually ordered by the make, model and year not by the size, unless you use universal boots and then it doesn't matter cus they're universal.

The earlier A2's were 90 mm both inner and outer. The later were 100 mm. Not sure where 1989 would fit in, but a parts store would tell you. The Gli's and Gti's were 100 mm. The inner and outer should be the same size unless a previous owner was messing with them.

if i had to guess i would say yours are 100mm ........i think 87 was the last year for 90mm
