Just got my car back from the mechanic finally, I got my alternator replaced. While i was there i asked him to take a look at the grinding noise that my car was making whenever i kmake left turns. He told me that i need to get the cv shaft replaced and said that the part is $150. I went on- line to see if i could find the part any cheaper but i couldn't find anything called a cv shaft. All i found was cv joint kit and a cv boot kit. So if anyyone can let me know where to find this part that would be great. Thnax

Re: Cv shaft? (tallicagolf)

they're called a few names. most common is half-shaft or axle.
what it is is an axle with a continuous velocity (CV) joint on each end.
go to napa and get a re-manufactured one for way less then that http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
