It's the euro INTAKE cam that people want. Who buy's these things from him? Am I the idiot???? Is this how I can unlock the hidden 20hp in my 16v?

I emailed him. He replied that he is selling an exhaust cam from a european MkII Scirocco 16V KR. He then asked what's the problem? I replied that he's the problem. A true VW enthusiast would share simple mods instead of being motivated by greed. No reply so far. This guy is the only German dude I've ever spoken with that's an ahole.

whao, i just stumbled into this thread. i see this dude actions all the time. he seels euro headlights, bumpers for roccos, and digifitz dash. pretty rare stuff. i havent bought anything from him, or even talked to him.
he is a jerk? any experience with this dude?
to be honest, his actions are the clearest. very consistant format, clear pictures, not misleading info.

i've never dealt with this dude...
nowhere on his ad does he mention or suggest that this part will improve your engine in any way...
maybe someone who's quite intelligent wants to modify it and make it into an intake cam?...
what i think he's trying to work is that fact that someone less-knowledgable might buy it for a premium beacuse "everyone wants that euro cam, right"?
as always, it's buyer beware.
the only mis-representation i see in his ad is the fact that "the parts are in a really perfect condition". when IMO they are not.
i sure hope the guy with the highest bid is truly aware of what he's bidding on...

the very clear fact that he's pawning off something with the implied premise that's it going to do something is enough to warrant educating as many people as possible. And by implied I mean the inclusion of "Euro" since in most instances it garners up images of high speed Autobahn blasts - but not with this product.
I'm willing to bet that there are many people seeing that auction and thinking to themselves that they are scoring a great find for short money.
Yes, buyer beware but educating the novice is part of the game here in these forums. I for one would be the first to stand up and cry foul on this auction. Why let people waste their hard earned cash?

ok for the dumb ( me ) i know what cams are but is there a difference in an exhaust cam? I'm new to 16vs. I only have mine for 2 weeks

. Also if it is in the head like the usual ones are how would getting only 1 work? can you actually have 2 different cams ina 16v? how does that work and what would it do? or is there 2 different ones in stock?

I've purchased some products from this guy before - he was surprisingly helpful and even went out of his way to purchase some additional parts for me prior to shipment.
In any case - Caveat Emptor. Sure, he's selling something that gives the impression of a tremendous power gain BUT if someone is stupid enough to purchase something without doing their research, that's their loss. Give the guy a break - he's merely "puffing his wares" which is both legal and legitimate.
Let me put this into perspective - if I'm selling a Power Module for example. I'm certainly going to "puff my wares" to convince you that it's the greatest thing since sliced bread and do my best to get you to pay top dollar for it. Would you purchase a Power Module for $50 if it were advertised as "Power Module - makes a little bit more power but only if you're really in tune with your car. Otherwise it's almost worthless" Probably not but it the ad read "Power Module - adds 10-15 hp to turn your sleepy 16v into a screamer", you'd at least read the ad and if you were willing to take the chance, you might even buy one.

Forget that its "Euro". IT'S A FREAKEN USED CAMSHAFT. Probably has been using it as a door stop for the past 6 months.

The 16V has an intake and exhaust cam. The euro intake cam and US spec intake cam are different; the euro intake cam is a better performer on the top end. The exhaust cam for the euro model and the US model are IDENTICAL. Alot of folks will swap out the US spec intake cam for the euro intake cam.

What you're doing is garbage. NOWHERE does he imply any performance gains. The guy is selling a part that appears to be as described. If you don't want it, don't bid. *Bidders* have the responsibilty for determining what they buy, period. Don't slam the guy for selling his stuff.
