hey guys, i was just driving home and my dash displays (odometer & clock) started getting dim... then they completely went out... and the abs light came on

but the car ran perfectly. it stayed like this for a few minutes then i came to a stop at a light and then the tach's needle dipped maybe 500rpms then the displays came on / abs light went out.
anyone have any idea what the problem could be??

i would think it was the cluster, but why would the airbag light come on too? they both happened at the same time.. and then fixed themselves at the same time. i'd rather not just start buying parts and hoping one of them fixes it

im just trying to see if someone else has any experience with this problem

If it's the displays itself, then I would say it's a connection problem at the back of your cluster, or the fuse is loose. The fuse that runs the cig. lighter also runs the actual odometer and clock. Check that out. Hope this helps ya!

cool thanks! i'll have to check that.. and next time it does it i'll see if the cig lighter works

If the clock is acting up it will probably need a whole cluster. I had the computer on my 94 Jetta GLX start acting weird, they had to replace the whole cluster. Thank God for an extended warranty.
