DCOE 40,45,48,50,55mm

what is the best size for weber set up un a 16v hybrid...
cam 268/272,eurosport headers with full eurosport exhaust,1.8l P&P haed, 2.0l block....

dual 40's or dual 45's will be plenty. I'm running dual 40 dell's on a very hot 8V 2L, and wish I had 45's. Gonna be a daily driver? or only occational?

daily driver but i need more power...currently i have 152whp....so i wanna go faster...maybe in 2years it will be a race car.

The size depends on the RPM you will be running.
twin 45mm carbs with 36mm chokes is all you need on a 2.0 VW engine, since it doesn't make any power above 8000rpm.

Just the carbs and manifold were 995$ from carbs.net, now they upped the price, last time it was listed on their site it was like 1115$ or something, now they just say CALL.
Then you have to buy the top mount linkage (99$), the borg warner style soft mounts (45$), shorter airhorns (120$), random jets and chokes (around 200$), a synchrometer (if you tune it yourself, 60$), the fuel tee (15$), a low presure high volume fuel pump (65$), a fuel pressure regulator (75$ - unless you get the carter pump), some fuel lines (20$), a fuel filter (15$), stuff to modify the radiator routing (if on a scirocco with the long manifold (TWM 0103) - 50$), stuff for the vacuum lines (20$), Ignition related stuff (400$ - blaster coil, 6al box, timing computer), spare spark plugs (you easily foul the first set because jetting will be off - 25$-40$)... and if you choose to have a custom fiberglass air box built, add another 200$. And buy the Des Hammill book (How to build and Power tune Weber and Dellorto DCOE & DHLA Carburetors), it's well worth the money.
It's not a cheap route, and it takes a while to find the right set-up. If it were to do all over again, i'd source a short manifold (TWM 0103s), forget integration of the knock sensor stuff and get an electric vacuum pump for the brake booster (manifold untapped), leave all the MSD stuff and distributor behind and get a TEC-II computer, crank mounted trigger and coil packs.

While that's an awesome way to go, it's not completely nessesary. For ignition you can save some cash with a Saab 900 Vac advance dizzy with early Rabbit wiring harness. Going with a carter pump will save a few bucks as they're internally regulated. Also get a manifold from (www.sandstorm2.com) as they're a bit cheaper than TWM and come with the vib dampers.
Score some 45's off Ebay with the expectations of rebuilding them. And you're set. Tho if you have the cash, go with a kit like mentioned. It'll be just that much easier.

So once you do these steps plus the carb synchronization and tuning. The system should run reliable? I'm looking into doing a 9A 16v build soon with 40-45 dcoe's. I'm trying to figure out what components I will need. I'm not a show car kind of guy. I just like cool stuff 😆.

I had DCOE's on an 8V and drove the car [daily driver] for about 5 years. Looks cool, sounds cool, but not as good as fuel injection. I would not waste your time/money on carbs. If you have to have something that looks cool and can run good, get EFI with ITB.
