Well, last week I experienced something I was hoping would never happen. My Dub was on a hook and I was following it to the dealership. My Tip decided that 4th gear was the only gear it liked, but this thread isn't about that...it's about my experience with SM-VW.
My Jetta was towed in Thursday morning, and I added a few items to the work order (radio, seat heater, seat frame, etc) since it was there. I figured that since my CEL was on, the car wouldn't shift out of 4th, and I didn't have an appointment...I wasn't going to get it back for at least a few days.
My service advisor, Greg, was brief but professional. He addressed each one of my notes, and said that I could call him tomorrow to get a loaner.
When I called the next day, Greg said that my car was going to be ready to pick up by the end of the day
The technician had diagnosed the shifting problem (bad solenoid valve) and repaired it. He also found an oxygen sensor that wasn't within spec and replaced it. He had addressed each one of my other items and there wasn't a single "unable to reproduce problem" to be found on the work order. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
In summary, they did more than I expected in less time than I expected. No hassle, just results. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
I even had a chance to teach one of the salesmen about the blue R32 they had out front.

Re: Dealer Experience - Santa Monica VW (DubberNix)

sounds like a good experience if you ask me
do you have any mods and if you do did you go back to stock before bringing it in?

Re: Dealer Experience - Santa Monica VW (TANiK)

Yes, it was a good experience overall. No mods, no problems.
If I was going to nitpick, I would have said that the service advisor should've mentioned that the new radio they put in has a new activation code. It was on the work order, but I bet that most people don't read every detail on work orders.
