I've been to my dealership, Antwerpen VW, south of baltimore 3 times in the last few months. One thing I've noticed is that every time I go, I see their employees flying around the parking lot in either new cars or customer cars (body shop, service). They turn on the cars from cold and immediately floor it and take hard turns like they're Mario Andretti, and then stand on the brakes when they get to where they were going. It makes me shudder to think I've left my car there, when they probably treated it the same way.
Last time I was there there were 2 R32's in the front. Some young employee jumped in one and just took off around the back of the showroom building. Obviously nobody in management is telling them to treat the cars with more respect. You know, since they are owned by their customers?? http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif

Re: dealership races in the parking lot (veedubpwr)

I noted this to a sales manager last time I was there. Thanks for the tip.

I would go beyond a sales manager and complain to VWoA. Obviously management at this dealership is inept. Somebody should be held responsible.

Yea i know how that is. Here at my local langan dealer, while waiting for my tire rotation, some guy was reparking cars and slipping the clutch like a ***** while at it.

Then while trying to merge into traffic, up a small hill, he was moving back and forth, slipping the clutch again for like 1-2 minutes straight before he got in.

On the lighter note, what dealership did you say that was? I figure since I don't have the dough to lay down on an R32, I will apply for a job and test race them. I am glad someone on the vortex has brought this to our attention. I feel in the near future there will be a flood of applications submitted to dealers. I am headed up to my local dealer and asking for an application right after I take a shower. Thanks for the idea dude http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Thats why i always watch em, instead of going into the waiting area I just lurk around outside. gives me peace of mind that my car is not being screwed with.

Antwerpen is an awesome dealership. I got some clothes from them off the web for christmas and it was too small so I sent it back for an exchange. They were very pleasurable to deal with and definately ontop of things there. I give them an A+ http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I think they're nice too. Customer service seems pretty good.
It's the jockeys whose responsibility it is to move the cars in and out of the various service bays.
