Re: Re: (assumed1)
Here you go.....
O.k I just got back from So. Cali where I have been for the last week and have the final on the hoods.
I have actually talked to the owners as well as the people that needed to be contacted to get the downlow on it all.
The hoods will require NOhoodpins....you can install them, if you feel as though it will secure it to your car better then just you stock latch being utilized.
The hoods are recomeded by Fiber Images as a "off-road" use only type of deal, but most people do not use them as such. They are more the safe to use as a daily driven hood though.
When the hood comes to you it will be pre-marked on the underside of the hood and you (if desired) will be able to take off your stock weather stripping and install it on the bottom on the carbon fiber/kevlar hood from Fiber Images.
This way you will help seal the hood to the car and keep wind from building under the hood and possibly blowing open. Your stock hood has the weather stripping for the same reason, to keep the hood sealed to the car.
Most people do not drive fast enough for this to happen being it blown open so using the stock equipment will be more the attiquate for what we want done.
They are ready for us to get going on our group buy and the hoods are going to be hoods off of the SLC not the G60. They will have washer jetts holes drilled in as they are going to be selling hoods to other people after this group buy is done.
The people that order hoods from them after this buy is done, will be paying more for then the $585 delivered for the carbon fiber, and the $685 delivered for carbon kevlar, and you can see by the pricing quoted above.
Unfortunatly our hoods are not in great demand right now, nor will they be after this buy is over considering the VW does not manufacture any more Corrado's v.s a Honda Civic or other highly produced car.
After this buy they will be making them as a "one off" or as needed from one of their wholesalers through out the world.
If you still want one then now is the time to get in. I am just waiting to hear back from Ken, who is local to Fiber Images and is so kind as to donate his hood for the cause.
If he can get his hood in there soon then more then likely everyone who has paid will have their hood before the end of January.
A lot of work goes into a Fiber Images hood, and I saw that while I was down there in L.A. They will look great, and those lucky enough to have them will for sure see the difference when compared to other hoods done by other manufactures.
If you have any questions you can e-mail me, I would be more then happy to answer any questions you may have.
Hope this clear things up and those of you who have paid you will be getting an e-mail here soon, as I am catching up on all my un-read e-mail.
