So true. That thing is hilarious. I'd be ANGRY to buy a car with such a useless waste of materials. I mean.... it seems they de-engineered each gauge to differentiate the base model CL 8V from other Passats. WHY?

That inst. cluster is from a Diesel (you can see the glow plug light next to the rear fog indicator)

Oh! I know!! I used to own one myself... diesel's cool!! My father's cousin in Germany has a driving school and he swears by Golf TDI's!!! They take the abuse, and he does'nt drive them like a whimp either!!! I went in Germany when I was 14 and he tought me how to drive standard shift... Does'nt get cooler than that!!!

240 km/hr!!! Thats amazing! That must be on a euro autobahn cuz in Canada, our highways are usually to congested to do that, or you get what I call "Marters" that pull in front of you to slow you down cause they feel its their job to keep peace on the raods.

hah action jackson: last summer my aunt left me and my dad her SLK320 for the day, so it was like 12:30 am, we went out on the 401, checked a stretch for cops, and we actually got it up to 235 km/h

...there werent many cars, and no cops thank god...it felt so fast with the top down haha that was fun times

The best I've done is 180 in my wifes NB on the 407!! We were going to Colburg for our aniversery and were late for our supper reservations!

Mind you I was 'hitin bricks cuz I was thinking about that kid who got stopped two years ago going like 200 in his acura! I don't want to lose my license

You its funny, as I look at that base model cluster I think wow, its got a digital odometer! Mine doesn't

No idea. They may be chipped, but the trannies are probably stock, so they do have the potential. I just found the pics at http://come.to/need4speed where a lot of speedometer pictures are collected. All pics are welcome, as long as the car's top speed is shown

Probably because the cluster is from a B4.

No, probably not. At least half of B3s have digital odometers and that looks exactly like the B3 cluster.
