The stock plugs are Bosch FR8LDC. I got these and they are the split electrode type. I'm not sure if these are the best to use on a FI motor.
I did a search and came up with this small thread:

Basically, those guys are using Bosch F6DTC or NGK BCP7ES, 2 grades colder than stock it seems. Is this right?
What do you guys recommend?
What difference in running or engine characteristics would I see with these plugs?

I've had the NGKs- that no. 7ES- in my 1.8 t car. Make sure those are part no's for the VR motors.
They seem to work OK. I'm getting colder plugs though b/c I'm shooting for a higher boost figure.
