the PO had the AC system removed.
is there a different bracket to use to mount the alternator, between AC and non AC cars? ]
when removing the AC from a car, are any extra or new parts required? to get my Alt belt tight enough i had to shave a bit off the top to clear the hood, and fully max out the adjustment.

yes there are different brackets, but good luck finding a non-a/c bracket these days. a common thing to do is to move the alternator down to where the a/c compressor used to be and get a smaller belt.
