Anyone organizing a water-cooled VW spot at the Woodward Cruise 2002? I would be willing to chip in to rent a spot. I know this is a bit soon to be planning this but every year spots get more scarce, so the sooner the better. It would be nice to get a roped off spot near the road where I could relax without some drunk puking on my car.

its a possibility to get together in front of my friend's dad's place(frame art and russel klatt galleries) the Volkswagen Audi Gruppe usually gets together there!

That sound's great! Perhaps we can get some kind of arangement made with your dads friend and some kind of guest list could be made. I would be willing to chip in money, beer, snacks..... whatever. I would be bringing my 1/4 mile race Rabbit. It should be completed by late spring. 1.8 8V Ballanced, big valve head, A2 fuel injection, .020 over, lightened flywheel, Crane 272, headder, plexiglass windows, no interior, roll cage, 100 HP 4 fogger N20, bla bla bla..... I want to be there!

Does anyone go to the Gratiot Cruise? If I remember correctly...the Gratiot Cruise is like a month before the Dream Cruise. I was at both last year, and I met up with a lady on Gratiot with a sweet white VW Bus. It was infront of the Audi Dealer just south of 10 Mile. I was thinking if anyone is going to be gonig there this year...thats where we all should meet!!!

Gratiot Cruise....Should be a good warm up for the big one. I have not been there, but I guess it's been gaining momentum. Im up for that one too.

Here is more about the cruise on gratiot, seems they do not have a date yet and Roseville is trying to be a party pooper. Hope they get things worked out.

Sounds like they are trying to make the Gratiot Cruise a lot bigger. I don't care what they do...I just want to see them have it again. And nothing will ever beat the Woodward Dream Cruise....I can't wait for both...I can't even wait to get my car outta the darn garage....

With the Dream Cruise coming up, we need to organize a gtg. The Volkswagen Audi Gruppe is now defuct and no longer operates..AFAIK. I talked to the guy who was supposed to be upgrading the website but havent heard from him in awhile.
A good spot for the cruise would be in the 12/13 mile area. Close to Duggan's and right in the thick of da action!!
As far as the Gratiot cruise is concerned.....the MVVC(Michigan Vintage Volkswagen Club) has a gtg at the cruise every year. I couldn't make it down there last year so I cannot comment on how it was.

Yeah, I didn't get to the MVVC GTG last year on Gratiot...but I met up with a lady that was in the MVVC. She has an old VW Bus and she runs the MVVC website.

There is no Audi Dealer on Gration anymore, they moved to m-59 and Dequindre, The old Audi store is going to be a Minnie Cooper Dealer http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif The new store is sweet though its a flagship store modeled after an airport hanger, check it out!

I heard the that there will be a new BMW dealership kitty-corner from the Audi/Rochester Hills dealership. That is the only place they were going to sell the Mini Coopers.
I could be wrong though! Can't wait to test drive one of them suckers!

Sounds about right... I'm really interested in driving the new MINI too. Heck, I've had a deposit on one from a chicago dealer for a while now. I'll have my Cooper S before the Detroit MINI dealer opens hopefully.
I was going to buy a new 1.8t GTI up until the point the dealer pissed me off. I still hate how I can't spec out a car through VW, you can only get whatever is sitting around somewhere. http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif
