Someone posted a really good overview of how everything works in the turbo engine of the old S2 so I thought I would modify it a bit for our 1.8T
Hope I didn't miss anything major, just wanted to show basics as per the original diagram.
Should help some understand where DV & N75 fit into the scheme of things.

Is there a recirculating valve between the DV and intake manifold?

Is the MAP sensor on the downstream side of the throttle plate? Also, is the light blue portion of the wastegate vented to the atmosphere? What is the function of the recirculating valve between the manifold and the DV, is it just a check valve? Thanks http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Yes, it is the one that says "Recirculating Valve for Turbocharger - N249"
It controls when the DV opens and closes
Naturally it is a simplification of pipes but there are many more pipes in that area in reality.
