depends on the 16v fender, the 1.8l fender is identical to the 8v fender. the 2.0l fender is factory cutout for tire clearance and has square holes under the flare to hold down the flares with a special clip.. its the flares on the 2.0l 16V's which are wider, they are also called g60 flares, they have a clip molded into the back of them that attaches to the fender like i mentioned. to use these flares on an 8v u have to cut the clips off and use liquid nails or similar adhesive to get them to sit right on the fender.

That being said, 8vGTI, check out my front flares.... they seem bigger than the standard 8v flares, but they should be the stock 8v flares. Maybe Im seeing things...

So besides the arch being cutout a bit and holes in it, it is still different? The actual shape of it sticks out more, or just the arch?

Wow, I totally read this post wrong. You are correct about the 16v fender, the difference is the cutout and the 2 holes. Besides that it is the same shape and everything as an 8v fender.
